Assessment and treatment of young children (ages 12 and under) with a broad range of behavioral, social and emotional difficulties.
Hope Program Goals
  • To conduct comprehensive child-friendly assessments
  • To gain a contextual understanding of the child's overall developmental functioning
  • To create child-specific treatment plans that encourage children's participation
  • To empower caretakers by providing specific coaching to help ameliorate specific problem behaviors in their child
  • To improve overall child and family functioning
  • To optimize resiliency
  • To provide skills to enhance communication between child and caretaker
Principles
  • Goals are achieved by tailoring treatment plans to each child and family.
  • Staff are qualified child and family therapists who will promote treatment goals through a variety of directive and nondirective techniques.
  • A variety of theoretical frameworks will guide our work, including expressive therapies (art, sand, play) and cognitive behavioral therapies. Referrals to more intensive services will be made when appropriate, including medication management, psychological testing, home-based services, etc.
Therapy Components
Children and their families will receive an array of services including:

  • Individual child therapy, including conjoint sibling or parent-child sessions
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
